Hi! My name is Jackie the creator of the blog, riceybeans.com. I grew up as a first-generation Cuban + Filipina. I have a passion for cooking, entertaining, travel and sharing life in a bright and beautiful way with all my family and friends! Welcome to rice y beans!

The name of my blog is after, "rice" the common denominator of my family bloodline and "beans" after my mom's legendary black beans.  One bite of my mom’s rice 'y' beans (Cuban accent) makes everyone craving more for years. 

I am the eldest of 4 children. I have a loving brother (the creator of @soflogrilling) and twin sisters (@twinningtravels) who also have a love for good food. I share many of their recipes here too!

With a huge family, I would be the point of contact for whom my family members would ask to learn how to make family recipes. Thus, the rice y beans blog was born! I showcase family recipes and recipes for everyday that are transformed to be Paleo and Keto-friendly.

I am a wife to an amazing husband and mother to a sweet little 5 year old boy. I love my family, friends, and neighbors. My family is a big part of my life, so you’ll notice I share the love for all of them in my posts.
