Grandma Leonardo's Tomato Sauce
My husband’s grandmother’s red sauce left an impression on his childhood and adulthood. Although he only had a short time with his grandmother before she passed, her tomato sauce continues to radiate through the family all these years.

Add whole peeled tomatoes, two heaping tablespoon of salt and pepper, followed by the oregano. Use a potato smasher to smash the peeled tomatoes. (Tip: If you prefer a smoother tomato sauce texture, use an immersion blender until smooth.)
Bring tomato sauce to a boil and stir regularly. When reaches a boil, cover and reduce to simmer for a minimum of 45 minutes. (Tip: The Ideal time to simmer the tomato sauce would be for approximately 2-3 Hours. The longer the better.)
Add your tomato sauce to your favorite pasta or freeze to use later!
