Walnut Baked Camembert

I had looked all over to find Brie in the fancy cheese aisle at the grocery store to make for the holidays & no luck. However, when I asked, they mentioned Brie’s substitute, the Camembert. Similar to Brie, Camembert is made of Cow’s milk. It is different in the sense that it has an earthier and umami taste. Ha! The things you learn at the grocery store. Now, if you do find Brie and would rather use this type of cheese, same recipe directions apply!

This recipe is a very simple one for the holidays. Adorn it with some green and red grapes, green pears, & gourmet crackers. I love to top the baked Camembert with orange marmalade and toasted walnuts. 15-20 mins for a delicious cheese presentation for your guests on Christmas!

  • 1/2 Cup of Toasted Walnuts; Optional

Prep Time:  5 Minutes
Bake Time:  15-18 Minutes

Serve w/: Gourmet Crackers & fruit

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Place Camembert wheel or Brie wheel on oven safe dish and bake for 15-18 minutes. (Tip: Good idea to wait until your guests are about to arrive or when they arrive to bake. You want the center to be hot for them to enjoy.)

  3. While the wheel is baking, toasted your walnuts for a minute in a pan and set aside. This is also a good time to pull out your festive tray and decorate it with your crackers and fruit.

  4. When the Camembert is done, remove from oven and take a knife and carefully go around the wheel to remove the top rind. The oozy Camembert is ready! Carefully place the wheel on your festive tray and garnish the oozy top with the marmalade and toasted walnuts.

  5. Happy Holidays! Enjoy!
